The Galveston Duck Tour is a unique way to see Galveston Island. On the Duck, you'll travel 40 blocks on Seawall Boulevard - overlooking the Gulf of Mexico - to Offats Bayou, where you'll then enter the water for a cruise across the bayou!
The Duck exits the water at Heards Lane, and then will take you past several historic mansions, through the Strand Historic District, and the Silk Stocking District, as it proceeds back to Seawall Boulevard.
During the entire Duck Tour, you will enjoy a humorous-yet-informative tour given by an experienced captain.
Tour groups, school groups, and family reunions welcome. Coast Guard approved. No refunds. Minimum of 6 people per tour. Parking available on Seawall Boulevard.
Admission

The driver's don't have a clue about Galveston or Texas history, so be forewarned. If you just want to ride in an antique watercraft, go for it. Otherwise, just toss your money off the 61st Street Pier. | | Robert Littlefield | 8/10/2008 7:26:00 PM | After seeing the "Ducks" on our last visit to Galveston, I promised my 9 year old son that we would do the Duck Tour the next time we came back. On Sunday, August 3rd, we had the opportunity to take the morning tour. We had a great time! The ticket seller was pleasant and efficient, the driver was very informative and entertaining, and the water tour was unique. The island tour was pretty extensive and we learned alot about Galveston. I would highly recommend the Duck Tours, whether you are a first time visitor, frequent visitor, or a Galveston native. | | Marilyn | 7/15/2008 5:29:00 PM | Bought tickets way ahead because had older Dad and young chldren and was told be back 10 to 15 minutes before tour (12:15 to 12:20) Got back at 12:13 BUT Duck already loaded and only four seats left. "Driver told us to get on or get left" and when trying to get my 6, 10 and elderly father situated since we weren't together was rudely told to sit down and "did I have a problem sitting by someone?" The Duck left 10 min early so it wasn't like we were late getting going. When I was trying to suggest that they warn families like ours about leaving early and the seating issue he ignored me and told me to "tell the employers, I'm not the owner". The rudeness was unnecessary. |
