Bicycle Day Pedals Downtown July 19th
The Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership (HDGP) is proud to announce that it is bringing back the popular Galveston Island Bicycle Day. A day of family fun and recreation for the bicycling community of Galveston, the bicycle day will include a bicycle show and contests, safety demonstrations, vendors and more! The event will be held Saturday July 19th, 10am - 4pm, at Saengerfest Park downtown, at the corner of 23rd Street and The Strand.

ELISSA Seamanship Orientation Coming to Pier 22 July 19th
An orientation meeting for seamanship training on the restored 1877 ELISSA, the Official Tall Ship of Texas, is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 1:30 to 5 p.m., dockside at the Texas Seaport Museum in Galveston, at 22nd and Harborside Drive. Houston-Galveston-area residents will have the rare opportunity to learn to sail and maintain a square-rigged sailing ship this summer and fall, and to take her into the Gulf of Mexico next spring. They will learn skills and even a vocabulary passed down from the days of the fictional Caribbean pirate, Jack Sparrow.
